Candle Care
A little candle care goes a long way. Follow these simple tips to get the cleanest burn, the best scent throw, and the most life out of your Pearl & Reed Candle Co. candle.
Trim your wick before every burn
Before lighting your candle, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch. This helps prevent smoking, soot, and an uneven flame. Pinch off the top of the wick or use a wick trimmer.
Let the wax melt all the way across
On the first burn, allow the wax to melt fully across the top of the candle. This helps prevent tunneling and gives your candle an even, beautiful burn every time.
Burn in 2–4 hour sessions
For the best performance, avoid burning your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
Keep your candle away from drafts
Place your candle on a stable, heat-safe surface away from fans, vents, curtains, pets, and children.
Never leave a burning candle unattended
Always blow out your candle before leaving the room or going to sleep.
Stop burning when 1/2 inch of wax remains
Once only about 1/2 inch of wax is left, it is time to stop using your candle to avoid overheating the jar.
With a little care, your candle will burn cleaner, last longer, and fill your space with the soft coastal luxury you love.
